Thank you

Update: November 18, 2014

Election day has come and gone. I'd like extend a warm thank you to everyone who supported me at the polls and throughout this process.

I was very fortunate to have met some great residents over the past month. Residents who are passionate about this community as a whole.

We had some intense conversations about the community and the direction of it, and perhaps equally as important we had some laughs in the process.

I am looking forward to getting down to business.

June 18th, 2013 - A Magical Day

Let me take you back in time to June 18, 2013.
I personally remember it well.
I was sitting at the kitchen table, having a mug of cocoa with the kids, thinking "gosh, I really ought to clean those windows".

I take a read through a news release from the District of Lantzville regarding the Nanaimo water agreement.

The bottom paragraph contains the following:
"Prior to entering into this agreement, Council will be providing the residents of Lantzville with detailed information and engaging in public consultation as it relates to the supply of water."

Let's fast forward to the evening of Sept 8th, 2014.
Council makes the Nanaimo water agreement public.
15 minutes later, a motion is passed and it is signed immediately.

I believe the young kids would use the expression WTF?

What happened to detailed public information?  What happened to public consultation?

None of it happened.

Yes, there is a public "information" session now scheduled for Oct 15th.  But a public information session is far different than consultation.

With consultation, one gets a chance to have input to the course of action.
In an information session, one is merely told what is happening and there is no input on the course of action.

I feel a post brewing on integrity....
